The Quote of The Day

My quote of the day comes courtesy of Minnesota Wild coach Jacques Lemaire, talking about John Scott: "“He’s a big guy, got a long reach,” Lemaire said. “His foot work has got to be a little better – and he’s working on it."

Anyone in Houston who has watched John Scott skate knows that he has trouble with his foot work. And yes, he's working on it, and yes, he's improved, but...the guy's never going to be Wayne Gretzky out on the ice. That said, I've dealt with John Scott on many an occasion in the Aeros locker room, and he's a great guy who I don't think I've ever seen angry, and I hope he makes it in the NHL.

He played in his first-ever NHL game tonight, the Wild's 3-2 shootout loss to the Detroit Red Wings. And what makes it even better is that Benoit Pouliot didn't dress, once again. I also saw Cal Clutterbuck get in a few good hits, including one which led to the Wild's second goal.

And both the Aeros and the Wild lost 3-2 in the shootout tonight, and both blew third period leads.
